Although the ergonomics researches conducted in relation to the kitchen constitute a very wide scope, they are generally gathered under three focal points.

The location of devices such as refrigerators and freezers is important for the storage of fresh food. The refrigerator should be located near the entrance to the kitchen and at the counter. The stove and oven should be away from the window.
Washing is the basin in the activity area. It is easily accessible and washing activities should be done easily. Dishwasher location is also extremely important. For right-handers, the dishwasher should be on the left, near the sink. For left-handers, it should be on the right. In order for the dishwasher to be loaded and unloaded easily, there should be at least 105 cm distance between the counter and the door.



The most important factor in the preparation activity area is the bench. A durable worktop material and easy-to-clean cutting board provide functionality. Food should be prepared in the long section of the counter and the sink and stove should be close. There should be a distance of 60 cm between the hob and the sink.

Oven and stove are used in cooking. The furnace should be designed 5 cm below the working area. It should be placed on the bench and its distance from the wall should not be less than 30 cm. For ventilation, the distance between the hood and the counter should be 60-65 cm. In terms of security, it should not be a place that is very busy. The location of the oven and hob should be away from the doorway. In families with children, a stove cover should be used. In order for the hoods to work efficiently, they must be at a height of 60-80 cm from the furnace and have the power to draw a minimum of 200-350 m3 of air.

In the designs to be made, attention is paid to ergonomic factors. Although no application is haphazard, it is solved in accordance with the anatomical and ergonomic structure of the person.
